The David Read Simulation Suite was named after Dr David Read to honour the role he played in developing the ITU department at the Princess Royal Hospital and the great work he carried out as Clinical Tutor for a number of years.
The David Read Simulation Suite is located on the 2nd floor of the Princess Royal Hospital main building. If you are visiting, follow the signs to the restaurant and the Education Centre.
The suite was created to support a variety of simulation activities and clinical skills.
Currently there are a number of groups that make regular use of the David Read Simulation Suite. These include the Surgical Faculty who run core surgical simulation and clinical skills days, the Critical Care Outreach Team, ITU, Maternity and Resus. The suite is getting busier as new educators make contact and new courses develop. There are always projects in the pipeline that will be of benefit to medical students, junior Doctors, nurses, pharmacists and senior healthcare professionals.
